Viva Technology publishes every year its "Top 100 Next Unicorns", a list of the 100 most promising scale-ups in Europe (including the UK and Israel). These are high-potential tech companies with the attributes to reach a potential valuation of USD 1 billion or more in the near future.

TOP 100 scale-ups

The list was compiled by Viva Technology in partnership with investment bank GP Bullhound, with the support of EIC, White &amp; Case, and with contributions from five of the world's leading investment funds: Accel, Balderton, Eurazeo, Partech, and Northzone.&nbsp;&nbsp;The list of scale-ups is based on the following criteria:&nbsp;-Growth and potential for growth-Total funds raised-Growth in number of employees-Geographical distribution with regard to the selection process-The ability to have a positive impact on society

The Next Unicorn Awards Ceremony will be held for the third time at VivaTech, the first edition took place in 2019. A prestigious jury, composed of investors, top unicorn founders, leading VivaTech corporate partners, and key ecosystem players, will judge the 100 scale-ups and select winners by category.In 2021, the scaleups Aiven, Vivino, Sumup, Ecovadis, and Sorare won the category prices, with Tessian reaching the prestigious unicorn status since then. In addition, three of these scale-ups have become unicorns (Aiven, Sumup, and Sorare). The initial ambition of the Next Unicorn Awards is to boost visibility and business opportunities for the most promising scaleups in Europe. Europe is taking on an important role in the creation of unicorns.
